Lupak Metal is the only Italian single-product company of venetian blind systems.

Since 2012, it has been investing resources every year in the study and refinement of its products in order to keep up with a constantly evolving market. 

The hallmark of Lupak Metal is the sartorial care of the product and service, with a focus on energy saving, fitting into the contexts of passive houses, green building and efficiency upgrading of buildings under renovation.

To better understand the company’s vision at this particular moment in history, we interviewed Emanuela Mengozzi, CEO of Lupak Metal.

Through the words of the CEO, we will discover the history and current situation of the company, but above all the innovations in the building sector that will be presented soon.

We asked Emanuela Mengozzi how Lupak Metal came about and what specific sectors it caters to today.

It was in the family business, “Mengozzi & Mazzoni,” that Emanuela took her first steps. Specializing in the assembly of Venetian blinds and shutters, Mengozzi & Mazzoni was the “fertile ground” that led to the development of the venetian blind.

The desire was to go beyond the traditional model of Venetian blinds or shutters, studying a product with advanced technological and aesthetic characteristics and performance. Therefore, creating a product that is no longer and not only an “accessory” but a real basic element of architecture, of the building structure, with aesthetic values adaptable to the new and traditional languages of everyday living.

This means building effective and concrete products also for the aspect of energy saving, which is now more indispensable than ever.

Lupak Metal over the years has grown and as of today caters to the building and architecture sector, especially to showrooms, infixers (wood, pvc, aluminum), monoblock builders, builders of wooden houses, technical curtainers and manufacturers of complementary elements to the window hole, architects and designers.

Since 2012, exponential growth has maintained the focus of the “unique product,” innovative and well-kept in the round.

An important milestone the company is working on is Industry 4.0. Fifty percent of the production process is automated.

How can Lupak Metal’s unique selling proposition be summarized? What sets it apart from industry competitors?

Lupak Metal is Italy’s first single-product manufacturer of profiled and extruded aluminum venetian blind systems.

The company constantly “looking to the future” always invests devotes a portion of its profits to research and innovation. By innovation we mean not only new products, but upgrades and improvements on existing ones_such as patents and class A materials_in order to make the mechanics and aesthetics perform better and better.

“We invest every year in the search for excellent quality raw materials that guarantee excellent product durability. Not only that, we perform regular checks on the products to ensure proper functioning and constantly integrate both aesthetic and functional improvements to keep up with market evolutions,” Emanuela points out.

We have improved and organised a sales area with two new area managers in Italy to meet all our customers’ needs quickly and to follow the most important projects closely.

The partnership relationship with the customer allows us to work in synergy and total transparency and to be satisfied at 360°, from the initial estimate to after-sales service.

Dedication, research and passion over time have also brought recognition:

    • CNA (National Confederation of Crafts) recognized Lupak Metal as an innovative company in 2017;
    • CRIBIS (a company specializing in Business Information) placed the company at an excellent level of business reliability rating;
    • LUME and LUME LIGHT products have been certified by the Giordano Institute (certifying body) for very high wind resistance;
    • The Italian and European patent office has confirmed the uniqueness of the products by initialing No. 4 patents to LUME on LUME blades and one system patent on LUME LIGHT.
After an overview of the company, history, and goals, we asked Emanuela about the degree of satisfaction in the year 2023, whether new launches, projects/products are planned, and what are the target countries besides Italy.

Despite the uncertainties of the global economy also in terms of supply and cost of raw materials, we are registering significant growth that confirms our “modus operandi.” 
Our business is 80 percent Italian, and the dialogue with foreign countries is mainly concentrated among Spain, Cyprus, Austria and Brazil with whom we are forging, with mutual satisfaction, a fruitful partnership.

A first view of last six months of 2023 and 2024 in terms of ideas and goals

As already mentioned the company will continue its mission with a view to improving projects and products, innovation and research will always be our “beating engine” with an eye on expanding foreign market.

The distinguishing factors compared to competitors will always be:

  • product excellence in aesthetic, mechanical and technological qualities
  • the pre and after sales service with dedicated commercial and technical assistance scrupulous and professional.
  • customer care through training courses, support material on- line and Off- line, constantly updated.
  • the presence at trade fairs
  • strategic teamwork is also a feather in the company’s cap: production and management collaborate effectively throughout the supply chain for a production and strategic workflow that matches market needs.
  • at the end of 2023 new headquarters will be ready, combining production-logistics and administrative area in one two-level structure.

  • integrated functionalities of the project will allow a significant increase in the production cycle to the benefit of all logistical phases such as storage, packaging, shipping. NewLupakMetal will also have a large showroom and meeting areas for training.

  • _Lupak Metal Academy_ will be a real community, a knowledge and development hub for its network.
